Great Pond
Where: Belgrade and Rome

Great Pond is one of the larger lakes in the Belgrade Lake system. North of Belgrade Lakes village, Great Pond is separated from Long Pond by a mountain called simply “The Mountain.” Known for its massive size, vacation rentals, and fishing, this lake delivers the best of waterfront living in Kennebec County, Maine.
There are two large islands located on the lake, Hoyt Island and Chute Island. These two land masses offer a place for fishing additional shoreline and more homes.
Great Pond real estate varies in size and usage. Long Pond is one of the larger bodies of water in the Belgrade Lakes system; with more than 2,500 acres, there is plenty of room for fishing, boating, and water skiing. From the north end of the pond, there is easy water access to the town of Belgrade Lakes for shopping and dining.
Long Pond real estate typically consists of single-family lakefront homes, though there are numerous seasonal cottages and weekend homes that are used in the summer months.

Messalonskee Lake

Located east of Belgrade Lakes village, Messalonskee Lake offers its residents year-round waterfront enjoyment. The lake is about 9 miles long and is relatively skinny in proportion. Known to Maine locals as Snow Pond, if offers summer activities such as water skiing, fishing and boating — the lake is known for great fishing and lots wildlife including loons, ducks, and bald eagles.
The layout of the lake is angled in a north-western direction lengthwise, allowing for sunset and sunrise views. The lake has a wooded shoreline offering shade in the summer months, perfect for relaxing.

North Pond

Salmon Lake

McGrath Pond

Lovejoy Pond

Watson Pond

Maine’s Watson Pond is located in Kennebec County and is part of the Belgrade Lakes system. Small in size, it’s a shallow lake reaching depths of about 24 feet but provides great fishing for its residents.

Androscoggin Lake

Maine’s Androscoggin Lake is part of the Belgrade lake system, located southwest of the town of Belgrade in Leeds. It’s known for its shallow waters, sandy beaches and warmer temperatures in the summer, a draw for those who love to swim.

Hamilton Pond

Torsey Lake

Located just east of Echo Lake, Torsey Lake (or Torsey Pond) is part of the Belgrade Lakes system in Kennebec County and is a medium-sized lake that offers all-sports access including swimming, water skiing, and fishing. Torsey Pond isn’t a very deep lake, with the maximum depth only about 45 feet, but fish are abundant. The town of Mount Vernon lies a few miles north.

Taylor Pond

It’s conveniently located seconds away from Winthrop, Maine, a historic city known for its friendly atmosphere and summer activities, and is also bordered by the towns of Manchester, Monmouth, Litchfield, and West Gardiner.
